Explore the Hinterland

The Sunshine Coast hinterland is a wonderful place to explore. There are quiet historical towns and beautiful rainforest and waterfalls. At the foot of the ranges is Nambour, the inland regional center. Up on the range in the Sunshine Coast hinterland are the townships of Mapleton, Montville and Maleny.

The area is well known for its secluded bed and breakfasts and arts and crafts.

Sand Islands of South East Queensland

South East Queensland has the biggest sand islands in the world. The biggest is Fraser Island located to the north of the Sunshine Coast. Noosa is a popular launching pad into the Cooloola and Fraser Island area.

Day trips and tours to Fraser Island are popular for many international and domestic visitors. To the south is Bribie Island which borders Pumice Stone Passage and framing Moreton Bay are Moreton and Stradbroke Islands.
